Besame Cosmetics Agent Carter Passport Shadow Palette and Invisible Dusting Powder – Review Time!

Besame Cosmetics recently debuted the second part of their Marvel Agent Carter line, or as I like to call it, their EVIL plot to take all my money. They have somehow figured out my weakness for eye shadow palettes and SUPER cute packaging and are basically holding my credit card hostage by releasing the Passport Shadow Palette and Invisible Dusting Powder at the same time.

I mean seriously, Besame, you might as well just charge my VISA as you go along because it looks like I am going to buy it all.

I have to say that Besame gets an A++ on this collection. Their previously released Field Agent Lip Kit was genius, so was hoping for some of the same with this one and sure enough from marketing to packaging to quality, I think they batted this out of the park as well.

The eyeshadow palette has to be my favorite out of the two I picked up during this release. Consisting of 3 mattes and 3 shimmers, they are STUNNING:

  • Dugan – shimmery copper
  • Zero Matter – shimmery vanilla
  • English – matte/slightly satin light pink
  • Allies – shimmery olive green
  • Leviathan – matte brick red
  • Midnight Oil – matte chocolate brown

All the colors are creamy to the touch and blend beautifully. Zero Matter performs nicer with a little setting spray, but Dugan and Allies (my favorite) work beautifully by simply patting it on your lid with your finger. The two dark mattes, Leviathan and Midnight Oil, are quite pigmented so I found building the color little by little worked best for me otherwise it’s going to be harder to temper if you go in heavy handed.

Let’s not gloss over the packaging of this palette because it is so fabulously thought out, that I squealed when I opened it. Resembling a British Passport, when you open it up, it has Ms. Carters demographic information, in what I am assuming is her handwriting, and her signature. It even comes complete with a small passport picture sized mirror, which although does not provide much assistance in creating a look, is really meant to help you get into the role. If you hold it just right, you suddenly become Agent Carter.

SWOON!

The Invisible Dusting Powder is another packaging winner. Complete with Shield logo on the front and a decoder running along the edge of the mirror, it’s really a collectors piece. If I had one complaint though was that the packaging is plastic and next to the leather bound palette and the ribbed gold of the lipsticks, it does feel, if not look a bit cheap. The powder itself is fine as well. It’s translucent, but I recommend to dab lightly as it will leave a white cast if you go in heavy.

Besame Agent Carter – Field Agent Lip Kit – Review Time!

I think I have been waiting for this launch FOREVER! Ok, a little less than a year, but DAMN! In this day and age when life is all about instant gratification, waiting this long had me flashing back to dial up internet and waiting for about 2 hours to download some music.

But don’t fret my friends, the wait was worth it!

The Field Agent Lip Kit was shrouded in secrecy and Besame dropped little nuggets for months, wetting our appetites for this collections:

  • A letter from Howard Stark
  • Speeding Ticket
  • Newspaper Clippings
  • Origami Note

I mean they took the theme seriously and, in retrospect, it was neat. Spying is not easy stuff and I think that the build up and clues sort of led us through all the twists and turns that this profession may take you. Nothing is literally handed to you. You have to work for your lipsticks (err…I mean target). Also, I think they held off with the launch to time it with the upcoming Avengers Infinity War Movie, which is also cool.

The whole concept of the lip kit was crafted down to the last detail. It was like one of those gifts you receive, where you open one box and find another wrapped box and open that one and find another and so on and so on.

When you opened the actual delivery box, you are met with another box that looks like an old fashioned parcel, with postage stamps hailing from all over the world. It’s addressed to Margaret P. Carter and the return address is from Besame Cosmetics. I mean what an introduction!

The second box, which I will be buried with,  was a jewelry box. It has the intials PC (Peggy Carter) on the front and when you open this box, you have a note and picture of Howard Stark, looking very Old Hollywood Handsome (I don’t think we would expect anything less from Howard). On the inside lid is the SSR or Shield Logo.

Seriously I’m dying right about now! But this is not even the best part!!!

There is a secret compartment that houses your “newest pieces of tech” or your three lipsticks. The tubes are in your classic Besame gold, but instead of the usual flower design, it’s a sleek ribbed design with the name of the lipstick written in Typewriter font running down the side. When you open the cap, MARVEL is embossed on the inside tube.

Ok! Now I am dead!

You get three lipstick shades:

  • 102 Sweet Dreams – a deep red shade
  • 103 Forget Me Not – a deep mauve
  • 104 Always Be True – a bright classic red

I like Besame lipsticks, but I have always found them a little dry and if your lips were not properly moisturized, you will find that you have to go over with the color a second time to cover any patchiness. However, I feel like the formula was tweaked a little with this collection, as they are definitely creamier when you swatch and apply.

I do think they benefit from a lip liner and you will have to reapply as I found the colors to fade throughout the day, but I won’t fault it too much as I think that is typical with cream lipsticks.

Besame is scheduled to drop 102 Sweet Dreams as as single, along with a powder compact and an eye palette, which you all know I am going to get and once again make sure that I am buried not only wearing the entire collection, but also with the actual items themselves.

I am affiliated with Besame Cosmetics, so if you want to pick up the Field Agent Lip Kit or any product, you can do so by clicking here. Keep in mind, that you if you purchase anything using my link, I will receive a slight commission.

Besame Agent Carter – Teaser Email

It’s time for Beauty Avengers to Assemble!

I was perusing my emails today and, low and behold, I find a little nugget about Besame’s upcoming Marvel Agent Carter line. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to decipher the clue they sent, so I am calling on all my Agent Carter fans for help.

What do you think? Is there a clue here on when the line is going to drop?

I know that Red Velvet must be part of the line as there is clearly a reference to it below and Besame also happened to feature it today in Instagram and Twitter. Not to mention that the color formulation is from 1946, which would place us right around the same time Agent Carter joined Shield, but what else am I missing?

Anyone else able to pick up on any other tidbits? If so, drop them in the comments below. We can super sleuth together.

Besame Cosmetics – Agent Carter

Last Saturday night I was surfing the web and doing some window shopping. I stopped by Besame Cosmetics to check out their latest endeavor, the Snow White Collection, and also research some of their lipsticks. They have a range of lipsticks that are inspired by the colors used in that particular decade. As an avid watcher of the History Channel, I thought that was totally cool and was deciding which one to throw to the cart, when something caught my eye.

I see the name Agent Carter in the drop down menu. Like the imaginary spy I envision myself to be, I covertly click on the link and immediately begin to nerd out to much of the confusion of my husband and children. Besame is coming out with a line of Marvel Agent Carter inspired make up!!!

Besame Agent Carter Promo

For those of you who do not know who Agent Peggy Carter is, she is seriously one of the coolest ladies of Marvel. In the comics and movie, she is Captain America’s first love interest during WWII who fought along with him throughout the course of the war against Hydra. After the war, she joined Shield as one of the first female agents. There was a TV show, also called Agent Carter, which chronicled her adventures and challenges being female spy in the predominantly male oriented profession. Unfortunately, it got cancelled, but if you have a chance to catch it online, please do so. It was BAD ASS!

The line looks like it will be launching this fall and when it does, you better believe I will buying it.

Any other Marvel Agent Carter fans out there? If so, let me know in the comments below.

Till next time, Avengers….I mean Friends!
