Friday Finds – Elf, Becca, BH Cosmetics & More

I love the holidays! With so many brands out there competing with eachother, the sales are starting early. My inbox has been taking a beating with all the brands advertising their sales and products and, for once, I’m not all that upset with extra email traffic. In case you missed my Sephora VIB post, I mentioned that you can typically get better deals if you buy straight from the brand vs, Sephora, well this week, I am loving the deals.

Move over VIB sale! You’ve got some competition.

From 11/10 – 11/14, e.l.f. will be having a 50% site wide sale. Time to stock up on some faves, do a little early Holiday shopping or just splurge! It’s elf! You won’t feel bad about spending a few bucks because it’s all so affordable. I personally LOVE  their Velvet Matte Lipsticks. I kid you not, these are pigmented and comfortable to wear. I wouldn’t necessarily call them matte, but for $1.50 on sale, you can call them whatever you want!

If you want to take advantage of the sale you can click link above and use code CELEBRATE. You will be accessing my affiliate code, which means I do get a little something if you shop using that link, but if you don’t want to, that’s ok! Just log onto elfcosmetics.com and use the same code.

Now this one really got me all wound up, because I know my friend Karla was eyeing this baby the other day. Until supplies last, Becca is offering the Limited Editions Apres Ski Glow Collection Eye Palette for $29. Considering that the regular price is $45, that’s a better savings that getting it during the Sephora VIB sale. As of Thursday, 11/9, when I wrote this post, they still had them online, so run and grab one!

BH Cosmetics has moved up their Black Friday sale and is giving us 40% off almost everything on their website. Time to start checking off people from your holiday list, because that includes some of my all time favorites, such as the Supernova and Solar Flare palettes, which are going for $9.59 each. These are some of the most gorgeous baked shadows I own and I use them from casual everyday looks to nighttime party looks.

Some other worthy mentions are:

ColourPop – 20% off when you spend $40 or more till 11/10. This includes their Holiday Collection

Groupon – 25% off using code WOW25. Groupon never fails me. From yoga classes to yoga pants that I will never where to a yoga class, you can find practically anything.

Wet n’ Wild – no actual sale going in, but you have to check out their boxed holiday gift collections. From $5 – $29.99, there is something for any beauty lover. Might I add that if you have a tween or teen, like I do, these would be great stocking stuffers.

If you got any promos that you want to share, drop the link in the comments sections below. I love shopping and spending money I don’t have on makeup I don’t need. 🙂

Till next time, my friends!

BH Cosmetics Super Nova Palette- Get Ready With Me

Today was one of those days where I had zero desire to get wake up. I just came back from a weekend road trip. I’m exhausted and achy from walking and in no mood to adult, so it’s days like these that I go for my go to Stress Less Look.

It’s all about making comfort look chic and effortless and my favorite colors to work with are browns and golds for the eyes because it’s really hard to mess that up in my opinion and they compliment my green eyes.

I love using my BH Cosmetics Super Nova palette for this look as not only do they have those easy to use warm colors, but also a nice selection of cool colors which makes this palette quite versatile.

Even though the colors are baked and give off a nice shimmer, I create a quick look with just 2 colors: Celestial and Phoenix.

First I blend Celestial with a fluffy brush into the crease and dip into it a bit more to deepen the outer V. I then drag it down to the lower lash to smoke it out a bit. Once everything is nice and buffed in, I gently tap on Phoenix with my finger on the center of the lid and move toward the inner eye.

Just add mascara and you are done!

No time to mess with hair today, so it goes in a Not So Messy Bun. Top it off with a cute head band like this one I got on Amazon and you are set.

I was working from home today, so I could have stayed in PJ’s all day, but I took as advantage of the cool weather and threw on my favorite pair of Old Navy light blue jeggings (no longer on their website) and my new grey and white plaid shirt, also from Old Navy.

Till next time, my friends!

Galaxy Chic – BH Cosmetics

Galaxy Chic is one of those palettes that you first buy for the novelty. Let’s face it, the whole concept is a gimmick, down to the packaging. Each deliciously swirled color is baked into small circular pans that shimmer like far away stars. The name is catchy and cute and my first thought was that this would make a great Instagram pic.

I cannot believe how shallow that sounds. I mean, I literally admitted I bought something for the amount of likes it would get me on Instagram. I think I need to get some help or the very least a lot of perspective.

Anyhow….

The surprising thing is that when I actually began to play around with the colors and started creating eye looks, I realized how versatile and rich this palette actually is. Unlike the recent releases of red toned palettes flooding the market this summer, this has it all. Warm reds, yellows, oranges and browns that can compliment your Urban Decay Heat or Colour Pop’s Yes Please palette, as well as cool blues, greens and purples that allow you to create those unique individual look.

The only downside is that they are all shimmers, which does not make this palette a stand alone, in my opinion. I typically incorporate some matte shades in order to create the depth I like in my eyelooks. The colors also apply better with when dabbed with the finger, than with a blush, but that is not a problem for me as I usually apply my shimmers in that manner.

Did I mention that this palette is $15.99? If the colors and packaging aren’t convincing, then the price is. I spent more on lip balm and it’s not even half as entertaining as looking at this palette.

Let me know in the comments below any other palettes that I should try out from BH Cosmetics. I currently own the Solar Flare palette, which is another highly recommended one, and want some more recommendations.

Have a great Sunday!
